The implementation of training “English Proficiency for Lecturers of Bilingual Classes” conducted by Language Center UMA was conducted on Friday – Saturday, October 22-23 2021 at Converence Room Hj. Siti Mariani, Library Building 3rd Floor UMA.

The aim of this training was to make good relation in UMA environment and unify perceptions toward Bilingual Classes as well as to improve teaching skill and especially English.

This training was begun of opening by Vice Rector IV of Cooperation Field, Dr. Ir. Dr. H. Zulheri Noer, M.P, as well as giving welcome speech and attended by Vice Dean of Academic Field, and Lecturers of Bilingual Classes.
This training presented 3 keynotes speakers, they are Selamat Husni, M.Hum (Debater of North Sumatra and Educational Practitioner), Rahmah Fithriani, Ph.D (Fullbright Presidential Scholarship Ph.D Program Grantee 2014-2017 and LPDP Dissertation Award Recipient 2017), and Prof. Dr. Hj. Tien Rafida, M.Hum (Researcher and Educational Practitioner).

Selamat Husni, M.Hum presented the material “Tips For How to Improve English Speaking” where there are 4 strategies to improve speaking skill that can be applied in the class, they are Characters, Consciousness, Method and Implementation.

Rahmah Fithriani, Ph.D presented the material “Bilingual Higher Education: Some Challenges & Suggested Implementation and Implementing EMI Courses at Higher Education A Suggested Pedagical Method, This united the perception of the Bilingual class.

Prof. Dr. Hj. Tien Rafida, M.Hum, presented the material “Model Learning” where many learning models that can be applied in the class, and demanded to lecturers to be active, creative and innovative, so teaching learning process can be easily run and the knowledge transferred is easily accepted by students.
